Third Space Canteen is about bringing together people in the local community over food.

Our journey began in 2017 by running one-off supper clubs from people’s homes. After a year we moved to a local cafe and one year later began working with professional chefs. In March 2018, there was a one month trial of the Canteen where we were open for two nights a week and further trial in October, where we opened one night a week for two months. We then moved to St James’s church hall, our current location. A central location in the heart of Bermondsey where we aim to be a hub for the local community to come talk and bond over food.

We source sustainable food, to make meals we serve in a social space and sit down and bond, talk and discuss local community issues. We want to remove the effort and confusion around choosing sustainable options and aim to provide a space where people feel excited make more conscious decisions in their everyday lives.

Our local partnerships bring interesting activities to the weekly canteens including parenting classes, yoga, meditation and nutrition talks. If you would like to get in contact to work together, please email info@thirdspacecanteen.com

Our blog provides an online space to find out more about sustainable food, local community initiatives to get involved with and recipes from our weekly canteens to recreate at home in an easy and low cost way. Read more here.
